Clans are Sword of the New World's version of Guilds.

When you first start playing, you will not be able to create a Clan. Fortunately, becoming eligible for Clan creation isn't very hard. Simply talk to Jin Hee, the Reboldeaux Pioneering Officer when you have accumulated 200 Family Reputation and 1,000 Vis (you do not lose the reputation, you DO lose the money). Jin Hee can be found in Reboldeaux standing around the tree with the Bazaar merchants.
